Arnsby found!
Joseph Arnsby - from Free BMD Index While doing one of our regular searches on the web for Arnsby's, a new Arnsby was found on the Rootsweb Free BMD web site.

Joseph Arnsby, age 1, died Liverpool, England 1877.

Further research is required but we suspect this may be the child of Edmund and Elizabeth (Oglesby) Arnsby.  Edmund died in 1877 of Consumption (Tuberculosis) while he and Elizabeth were in Liverpool.

September 2003 - an e-mail received from (Ret'd) Captain Donal Buckley (Irish Army):

I am organising a dedication of the grave of your illustrious ancestor Coughlan VC. The information you have here is wonderful. I have started a press campaign and have opened an account to collect funds to do the job. The ground work on the grave has commenced and the ceremony and unveiling of the headstone will be on Aug 07, 2004.

It would be wonderful if you could make it here to the West of Ireland. I might be able to organise a visit to Renmore Barracks*, Galway, now known as Dún Uí Mhaoilisa (Mellows Fort) for you.

This barracks is now the home of An Céad Cathlan, The Irish Army's First Infantry Battalion and only 100% Irish speaking unit.

I have invited the Irish Minister for Defence to unveil the headstone and to make the dedication and the British Ambassador to reply.
