The
Will of Samuel Arnsby
Circa April 29,1812 |
This the last Will and Testament
of me Samuel Arnsby the Elder of Upper
Benefield and of Kirby Lodge both in the County of
Northampton Grazier All my Household Goods, Plate
Linen, China and Household Furniture of all sorts -
being in or about my Dwelling house at Benefield
aforesaid I give and bequeath unto my Wife Elizabeth
Arnsby also I give and bequeath unto my said Wife
Elizabeth Arnsby one Annuity or Yearly Sum of
Fifty pounds for and during the Term of her natural
Life to be paid to her by equal portions by half
Yearly Payments and the first thereof at the end of
six Months from my decease by my Executors
hereinafter named. I give and bequeath unto
my Daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Thomas Jelley
One Annuity or Yearly Sum of forty pounds for
and during the Term of her natural Life to be
paid to her own hands and upon her own Receipt
alone notwithstanding her Coverture and not to be
subject to the Debts control or engagement of her
Husband the same to be paid by my Executors by
equal half Yearly Payments and the first there of
at the end of six Months from my decease. And
my Will and Mind is that in case the said Annuity
shall be a figured over or in any manner parted
with or transferred that the same shall from and
after such Assignment or transfer made thereof
from thenceforth cease and my said Executors and
my Estate be discharged there from as fully as if my
said Daughter had departed Life. Also I
Give and bequeath unto my said Daughter
Elizabeth Jelley the sum of two hundred pounds
and I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter
Laetitia Arnsby the sum of One thousand Pounds
which said Legacies I direct my Executors to pay
within twelve months after my decease. All the
rest and residue of my Goods, Chattels and Effects
whatsoever and wheresoever subject to the payment
of the said Legacies and Annuities. I Give and
bequeath unto my two sons Samuel Arnsby and
Thomas Arnsby equally to be divided between them.
And I make constitute and appoint my said two
sons joint Executors of this my last Will and
Testament hereby Revoking all former Wills by
me made. In Witness whereof I the said
Samuel Arnsby the Testator hereunto set my hand
and seal the twenty ninth day of April in the
Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and twelve.
