S/Sgt Walter Connors

1836-? - Born in Ireland Walter joined the Army at the age of 23 (to serve with his brother). Walter earned medals from the Crimean War, the Indian Mutiny, and the Turkish Medal.

Sgt. Major Coughlan, VC

1828-1915 - Victoria Cross recipient Cornelius Coughlan. Copy of the District Orders and the extract from The London Gazette are here for you to read as well as a picture of his gold watch and his final resting place.

Sgt. Henry Alfred Arnsby

1828-1887 - Henry enlisted at the age of 22, Henry served until 1871.

Cpl. Edmund Arnsby

1832-1877 - Enlisted in 1851 at the age of 18 years 9 months. Earned 4 Good Conduct Badges, Crimean Medal, Turkish Medal, India Mutiny Medal with clasp for Sebastopol.

Lt. Ned Arnsby

1867-1939 - Ned and his brother S/Sgt. Bob (Robert Henry) Arnsby were sent to the Royal Hibernian School as boys upon the death of their parents. Ned joined the Connaught Rangers at the age of 15 in 1882. WWI - 1914-1918 - Lt. - Quarter Master - 7th Yorkshire Regiment.

Major Con Arnsby

1897-1984 - In 1911, Con joined the Army, Royal Ordinance Corp, then the R.E.M.E. (Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers). He obtained the rank of Major. Con retired February 27, 1952

Lt. Patrick Arnsby

Born in 1925 Patrick carried on the tradition of his father, grandfather and great grandfather's by serving in the Military as a pilot.

Major Ted Arnsby

1902-1982 - Ted enlisted in The Irish Guards in 1916 at the age of 14 and served until 1927 when he transferred to the The Army Physical Training Corp.

Drum Major R.H. Arnsby

1899-1937 - Joined the Irish Guard in 1914 at the age of 14, the youngest Drummer Boy overseas. Robert Henry was a Drum Major, 1st Battalion, The Irish Guards from July 1927 to 1935.

Lt. Cyril Arnsby

1911 - ? - Cyril served with the R.A.O.C. In WWII in the Royal Engineers & Royal Artillery, he earned the rank of Lt.

Capt. Paddy Mathews

Husband of Lt. Ned Arnsby's daughter Margaret, Paddy was in the Irish Guards.

Husband of Lt. Ned Arnsby's daughter Elizabeth.

Albert Ford

Nephew of Lt. Ned Arnsby and S/Sgt. Bob Arnsby. The son of their sister Elizabeth (Arnsby) Ford.

S/Sgt. Bob Arnsby

1870-1859 - Bob and his brother Lt. Ned Arnsby were sent to the Royal Hibernian School as boys upon the death of their parents. Bob became Staff Sergeant, Army Pay Corps.

Gunner Bobby Arnsby

1899 - 1918 - Eldest son of S/Sgt. Bob Arnsby, Bobby was in France when he was killed, He was just 19 yesrs old.

Capt Ted Arnsby

1901-1982 - Second son of S/Sgt. Bob Arnsby and brother of Gunner Bobby Arnsby, Joe Arnsby, Micheal/Fred Arnsby,and Sgt. Eileen Arnsby.

Joe Arnsby

1903-1970 - Third son of S/Sgt. Bob Arnsby and brother of Gunner Bobby Arnsby, Capt. Ted Arnsby, Micheal/Fred Arnsby, and Sgt. Eileen Arnsby.

Michael/ Fred Arnsby

1910-1988 - Seventh son of S/Sgt. Bob Arnsby and brother of Gunner Bobby Arnsby, Capt. Ted Arnsby, Joe Arnsby, and Sgt. Eileen Arnsby.

Sgt. Eileen Arnsby

1912-1997 - Second daughter, nineth child of S/Sgt. Bob Arnsby. Sister of Gunner Bobby Arnsby, Capt. Ted Arnsby, Joe Arnsby, and Micheal/Fred Arnsby.
